On 9th November 2016, Groupe CAT attended the 5th annual Automotive Global Supply Chain awards, hosted at Claridges Hotel in London.
Top executives gathered to represent the automotive industry at the event with the sole purpose of acknowledging superb performance for every winner and nominee. Groupe CAT was one of 18 companies and individuals rewarded during the evening, for having pioneered a new way of thinking or working and demonstrating the ultimate in performance.
Finalists
Groupe CAT have an excellent history at the event, winning an award every year since 2013, so the team were hoping to continue this winning form. On this occasion, Groupe CAT were pleased to be announced as finalists in both the awards for Logistics Quality and Vehicle Processing Centre, which we have previously won.

Apprentice Award Winner
But our biggest success of the evening was winning the Apprenticeship Programme of the Year Award. Groupe CAT was awarded as the company which had the most comprehensive, exciting and beneficial apprenticeship programme, demonstrating dedication to training, learning and sharing of information to a new generation for the benefit of the industry as a whole.

In the UK our apprenticeship programme is designed to build the ‘best in the business’, through hands-on experience, working with both the future of our apprentices and the industry’s future in mind, instilling a strong work ethic in a fast-paced, quality driven environment.
One of our body shop apprentices in vehicle accident repair, was nominated to represent Groupe CAT’s customer BMW in the Babcock Apprentice of the Year competition. They later won the contest which CAT are extremely proud of and were invited to attend the event and collect the award with Stuart Warren, Groupe CAT’s UK Managing Director. Upon receiving the award, Stuart said “This is a great recognition of our investment in people, for the future of Groupe CAT and the future of the whole industry”.
“The Groupe CAT programme demonstrates that clearly focused training skills apprenticeships are a positive move in any organisation as it supports the responsible development of our next generation and retains valuable skills within the industry,” commented the judging panel.

The Groupe CAT Team after winning the Apprenticeship Programme Award
Moving forward, CAT UK are hoping to continue to improve and expand our apprenticeship programme. We hope that the industry knowledge and skills we pass on to our apprentices will help to grow our business and ultimately shape the future of our industry.
