Today Russel Gallacher from CAT UK Services begins his epic 190 mile journey Coast to Coast, from St Bee’s to Robin Hood’s Bay to raise money for the charity PTSD Resolution.
Russel, alongside colleagues from CAT UK and RMS, will be walking Wainwrights famous Coast to Coast route, from St Bee’s on the West Coast to Robin Hood’s Bay on the East, crossing three National Parks on the way.
Starting at St Bee’s
St Bee’s is a small coastal village, known for it’s Red Sandstone cliffs, on the West Coast of Cumbria and only 50 miles from the Scottish border. The beach also marks the start of Wainwrights Coast to Coast route.

Raising money for PTSD Charity
Russel, a Supervisor from Solihull, has wanted to do something about raising awareness of PTSD for some time. Now he is taking on a huge challenge – walking 190 miles Coast to Coast to raise money for the UK based charity PTSD Resolution. Speaking about his inspiration for taking on the walk, Russel said “My time spent in the Army and having so many good friends that have been injured physically and mentally inspires me to do this challenge even more and I know the memories of the good times that we shared together will keep me going each day.”
